Kolton Miller Ranked as One of the Best Tackles in NFL

The Las Vegas Raiders will rebuild their offensive line this season, as they have multiple free agents on their offensive line. Kolton Miller, though, is here to stay.
In this story:

Although they struggled at times, especially early last season, the Las Vegas Raiders had one of the better offensive lines in the National Football League this season.

While the Raiders have many questions along their offensive line heading into next season, left tackle Kolton Miller is not one of them.

Left tackle is arguably the most critical position on the offensive line, and the Raiders have one of the best in the business. The Raiders selected Miller in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he has delivered on that investment.

Before this season, Miller had missed only four games in his previous five seasons in the NFL, playing in roughly 99 percent of the Raiders' plays over that time frame.

Miller's impact was noticeable this season with him on the field and maybe even more evident when he missed games due to an injury.

Austin Scott of Pro Football Focus ranked Miller as the 11th-best tackle in the NFL, tied with Trent Brown of the New England Patriots.

"Miller continued his streak of impressive tackle play, posting his third consecutive 80.0-plus overall grade," Scott said. "Despite struggling with a shoulder injury down the stretch of the regular season that cost him a few games, Miller remained a high-level pass protector, allowing just 16 pressures on 428 pass-blocking snaps."

Even more impressive is that Miller had such a successful season while missing four games. Miller remains a dependable tackle on an offense with many unknown aspects at critical positions.

As the Raiders enter next season with a new offensive coordinator, offensive line coach, potentially a new running back, three new offensive lineme and maybe even a new quarterback, Miller is undoubtedly one of the constants on an offense that could look completely different next season.

Las Vegas will depend heavily on Miller to anchor what could be almost an entirely new offensive line next season.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
