Raiders' Kolton Miller Hosted Camp at Alma Mater
The Las Vegas Raiders and other players around the NFL have a little bit of time on their hands before training camp begins.
With some of that time, many players choose to visit their hometowns to see their families and connect with their old communities.
On Saturday, Raiders tackle Kolton Miller hosted a free camp at his high school, Roseville High, in Roseville, Calif., per Kevin John of ABC10.
The camp was open to kids ages 5 to 14. Participants took part in various drills and also scrimmaged.
"I really wanted to have something that I could give back to the kids and to the community, and I feel like this is the best way I can do it," Miller said. "You know, I've been in the league for six years. I recently donated to the weight room, and the last piece was giving my time and being able to connect with these kids to have them take away something from it."
Miller graduated from Roseville High in 2014. Rivals had him listed as a four-star recruit and ranked him the 31st best offensive tackle in the nation.
Miller was a Cal-Hi Sports All Northern California First Team selection, an All-State honoree, made the Sierra Football League First Team, and was named to the Sacramento Bee's All-Metro First Team. He was also named a team captain in the Sacramento Optimist All-Star Game.
The lineman went on to play at UCLA from 2014-2017, where he was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team by league coaches in his third and final college season.
Miller was drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft (15th overall). He enters his sixth season with the Silver and Black and has been a full-time starter since joining the club -- 79 starts in 79 appearances.
The Raiders extended Miller to a three-year, $54.015-million contract in March of 2021.
The extension was added with two years remaining on his rookie contract at the time.
