3 Under the Radar Raiders Who Made the 53-Man Roster
Like many teams, the Las Vegas Raiders had to make callous decisions for their final 53-man roster. In total, 26 players on the Raiders were released, waived, or placed on the Raiders' Reserved/Injured lists.
Three players on the Raiders' 53-man roster worked hard this training camp and preseason to earn a roster spot. Those three players are wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson, linebacker Curtis Bolton, and offensive lineman Joran Meredith.
These three players have spent most of their professional NFL careers on a team's practice squad.
Bolton has played on five different NFL practice squads before playing for the Silver and Black. The Raiders elevated him to the main roster, and he played a career-high ten games. He finished this year's Raiders preseason with seven tackles and forced a fumble for the Silver and Black.
Wilkerson also had an overall proficient preseason with the Raiders. He led the league this preseason in receptions with 17. He also finished the preseason with 188 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
Wilkerson also has played for the New England Patriots and has four total career games as a wide receiver in the NFL. He could be a vital player in the Raiders wide receiver room this upcoming season.
The former Western Kentucky Hilltopper Meredith also made the Raiders' 53-man roster. Meredith signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2021 and joined the Raiders last season, playing on the Raiders practice squad. The offensive lineman earned himself an 83.1 passing grade from Pro Football Focus this preseason. Meredith has played one NFL game in his career.
All three of these players have the potential to make an impact at their positions this season on the Raiders 53-man roster.
The Silver and Black open the regular season at the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 4:25 p.m. EDT/1:25 p.m. PDT.
