Three Offensive Rookies Shine Against Chargers

Las Vegas Raiders rookies Aidan O'Connell, Michael Mayer and Tre Tucker all shine in a dominant win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Las Vegas Raiders ended their three-game losing streak on prime-time Thursday Night Football by dominating the Los Angeles Chargers with a score of 63-21 in Allegiant Stadium.

The Silver and Black made NFL history by scoring the most points by a team coming off being shut out in their last game. The Raiders also scored the most points in a game in franchise history.

Even though the entire Raiders offense dominated throughout the game, three offensive rookies on the Raiders shined and had their best performances of the season.

It starts with rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell, who completed 20--of-34 passes forr 248 yards with zero interceptions. He also threw four touchdown passes, two to rookie wide receiver Tre Tucker, one to wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and one to wide receiver Davante Adams. O'Connell finished the game with a quarterback rating of 120.7.

O'Connell has passed for 1,613 yards with eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions in nine games this season, in which he has taken over as the starting quarterback for the Silver and Black.

Raiders rookie tight end Michael Mayer also shined in the dominant win and performed his best of the season against the Chargers finishing the game with four receptions for 39 yards and his second touchdown.

Mayer has 27 catches for 304 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season.

Lastly, Tucker finished the game with three receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns. He has 11 catches for 220 yards and two touchdowns in his first season with the Raiders.

The Silver and Black (6-8) snapped a three-game losing streak and kept their playoff hopes alive. The Raiders have 11 days to get ready for their Week 15 game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day.
