Raiders Play Familiar Faces Sunday Against Chargers
The Las Vegas Raiders are preparing for their Week 4 road game against their divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
Since the Raiders and Chargers are divisional rivals, there is often an opportunity for former players and even coaches to go head-to-head against their former team. This Sunday, the Raiders go head to head against former Raiders, who are currently with the Chargers.
The Raiders will go against Chargers defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley. He spent one season with the Silver and Black in 2018. During his time with the Raiders, the franchise was ranked 10th in receiving defense at one point. The Raiders' defense only allowed 245.8 yards per game during the 2018 NFL regular season.
The Raiders also go head-to-head against former Raiders linebacker Khalil Mack. A first-round draft pick in 2014, he was selected fifth overall by the Silver and Black. He played four seasons with the Raiders, notching 304 tackles, with 231 being solos. He also had 68 tackles for losses and 40.5 sacks in 64 starts, playing from 2014 to 2017 with the Silver and Black.
Mack is in his second season with the Chargers. He has 39 solo tackles, 20 assists, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries in 20 games with the Chargers.
The Raiders go head-to-head with another former teammate, linebacker Tanner Muse. The Raiders drafted Muse in the third round, 100th overall, of the 2020 NFL draft. Muse spent two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and now is with the Chargers. He has 23 career games played, with 20 career tackles.
Be on the lookout for these former Raider coaches and players as they go up against their former teams this Sunday with the Chargers.
The Silver and Black return to the road this week in Inglewood, Calif., to play the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 4:05 p.m. EDT/1:05 p.m. PDT.
