Raiders' Crosby Nominated for Art Rooney Award
The Las Vegas Raiders announced this week that Pro Bowl edge rusher Maxx Crosby has been nominated for the annual Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award for a second consecutive year.
The award, named after the founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is given yearly to one NFL player who demonstrates the values that most align with on-field sportsmanship.
A panel of former NFL players will choose four nominees from each conference as their eight finalists for the award. Their names will then be on this year's Pro Bowl ballot for players to make their winning picks. Each NFL team will choose a consensus pick they believe deserves the honor.
The winner of this year's Art Rooney Award will be revealed at the NFL Honors in February. They will receive a $25,000 donation that will be given to a charity of their choice.
Crosby was named one of the eight finalists last season. Atlanta Falcons defensive end Calais Campbell, who was with the Baltimore Ravens last season, was the 2022 award recipient.
Raiders legend Charles Woodson was the last Raider to win the award.
