Crosby Part of Foundation Raiders Want to Build
Las Vegas Raiders Coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler have made it clear since their regime's start that they intend to establish a future with this organization by keeping certain players in the building for years to come.
Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby is one of those assets. The club signed the two-time Pro Bowler to a four-year, $94-million contract extension in March of 2022, locking him in for what could likely be the most critical years of his rising career.
In every single way, Crosby is the ideal building block. He is an amazing son, husband, friend, and father. He loves the Las Vegas community. His work ethic mimics those greatest athletes -- Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Earvin Johnson.
Crosby was born to be a Las Vegas Raider and embodies the toughness, and grit of a blue-collar factory worker, more than the millionaire he is. Money didn't change Crosby; it did only what it does to the great ones.
Raised in an amazing family that knows the value of a dollar, his wealth humbled him. It motivated him more. Crosby isn't content being the best on a team or for a season. He wants to be the best.
Crosby works hard in the desert, hoping to finish in thwew Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
Crosby is one of seven Raiders, 27 years of age or younger, under long-term contracts.
"That's obviously what Josh coming in and Dave, every coach has their vision of what they want to do with an organization," Crosby said. "Some people aren't going to agree with it, some people are. You've just got to own what you do, and that's all it takes. All the outside noise doesn't mean anything; it's all about results and winning and losing. That's all people care about. Josh and Dave are on the same page, they have a vision of what they want, and they're doing that, and they're sticking to it no matter what anybody says.
"Being on this team, being a captain, being a leader, I'm bought into that. No matter if it hurts people's feelings, no matter if certain people don't like it, like that’s just what it is. We don't care. We show up, we work, we're the ones putting in the work, and we're the ones who've gotta go out there and produce. So we've all got to be on the same page, and if half the people aren't and half are, then you're not going to win -- it's as simple as that. So, if we get everybody on the same board, we're going to have a better chance."
The Raiders' offseason workout schedule is as follows:
