Raiders' Crosby Featured in NFL's "Every Pick Counts" Video
As we’ve seen in a number of NFL Drafts in the past, star players can be found in any round at any pick.
This includes Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby, who was selected with the 106th pick in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Crosby has totaled 229 tackles, 37.5 sacks and seven forced fumbles in his four-year career.
The NFL posted a video on Twitter on Monday with the message that every pick counts and that just because a player is not a first-round pick doesn’t mean he can’t become a star.
In the video, Crosby reads not-so-glowing scouting reports about himself when he was entering the NFL out of Eastern Michigan. Some of the critiques were that he would be an “average backup or special teamer,” that he was “way below average,” and that he was “underdeveloped.”
Crosby defied those negative reports, became a multiple-time Pro Bowler, and is considered one of the top defensive ends in the league. While he wasn’t viewed as an elite prospect during his draft process, he’s become a star in the NFL.
The Raiders hold 12 picks in this year’s draft and hope to find another player like Maxx Crosby with one of their later-round selections.
