The best players in the NFL are also often the best competitors in the NFL.

This is evident for Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby, who never backs down from a big moment, no matter who is across the field.

In light of a recent Netflix documentary series called “Quarterback” that released today featuring Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, the NFL posted a clip on social media with a snippet of an interview with Crosby, talking about his relationship with Mahomes.

“It’s great,” Crosby says in the clip. “After the games, he always comes up to me, I go up to him, but when it’s between the quarters, he knows what time it is, and I know what time it is when he’s out there.”

The clip played footage of the Raiders’ first game with the Chiefs during Week Five of the 2022 season, and Mahomes and Crosby can be seen shouting at each other and getting into each other’s faces.

Crosby can also be seen headbutting Mahomes, the culmination of a build up of the two trash talking to each other throughout the game.

The interviewer made Crosby aware of the docuseries, to which he responded: “I need to see that.”

“Quarterback” follows Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota throughout the 2022 season. Each quarterback had varying levels of success, including Mahomes winning his second MVP and Super Bowl championship.

Mahomes has had significant success against the Raiders since becoming the starter in Kansas City, as he has won nine of 10 games he has played against them.

Crosby has developed into one of the best edge rushers in the NFL, being named to consecutive Pro Bowls in 2022 and 2023. Crosby has sacked Mahomes four times in his career, three of them coming last season.

When Mahomes and Crosby line up across from each other twice each season, the competitive fire will emerge from both of them. The two have respect for each other as competitors, and each time they match up, expect to see the best from each other.
