Raiders Daniel Carlson Back on Track after Raiders Win
The Las Vegas Raiders are 3-3 this season after beating the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The Silver and Black are on a two-game winning streak and look to extend that with a week seven victory over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday.
One takeaway from last Sunday's victory over the Patriots was Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson bouncing back from an uncharacteristic game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.
Kicking against the Packers, Carlson finished the game, kicking a total of three field goal attempts but only making one, ending the game with a field goal percentage of 33.3 percent, although one was partially blocked.
However, Carlson kicked against the Patriots and made all four field goal attempts.
Carlson has made nine field goals on 11 attempts this season, percentage of 81.8 percent. Carlson has a field goal percentage of 87.9 percent in his six-year career.
Coach Josh McDaniels had a chance to speak to the media after the Raiders' victory over the Patriots and talked about All-Pro kicker Carlson.
"I mean, I think we have the best kicker in the NFL," McDaniels said. "And so, to have that feeling week in and week out at practice and you watch him do his job, and you come to the stadium on game day, and you know that if you need a big kick or something else -- nobody talks about his placement of the ball on the kickoffs, or what he does in that regard to try to limit returners and all the rest of it.
"But Daniel is an elite player at his position, and I have tremendous confidence in him regardless of the situation or what has happened in the recent past. We'd give him the ball 100 out of 100 times if it was the game on the line."
The Silver and Black will head on the road to take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 1:05 p.m. EDT/10:05 a.m. PDT.
