The Las Vegas Raiders are starting to build their offense in the vision of Coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler.

That involved sending out a few long-time franchise cornerstones in quarterback Derek Carr and tight end Darren Waller, and bringing in players they are familiar with, like quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

With the offense set to look notably different in 2023 than it did in 2022, there are several question marks surrounding what the offense how quickly the new pieces will mesh, how effective they can be in their division, and much more.

Today, let’s take a look at the three biggest question marks surrounding the Raiders’ offense.

Jimmy Garoppolo’s health -- Now that Garoppolo is running the Raiders’ offense, there will be a stylistic change and stark contrast from Carr to him. The other glaring issue is the health of his foot.

Garoppolo had surgery on his left foot after signing with the Raiders, and while he should be ready to go for the season, this injury, along with the countless others he has experienced in his career, could be a concern.

What does the running game look like if Josh Jacobs doesn’t play? -- Jacobs and the Raiders have not agreed on a long-term contract extension after he was franchise tagged in the offseason, and Jacobs is currently not with the team.

Jacobs carried the ball 340 times last season. Behind that, the next-highest number of carries by a running back was between Zamir White and Brandon Bolden with 17 each. The Raiders will need to find consistency from the running game if they want to be as effective as they were with Jacobs in the backfield.

Who will contribute from the wide receiver group? -- The Raiders’ wide receivers are Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow and Jakobi Meyers. This is one of the top receiver trios in the NFL.

Beyond that, who else will give pass catching help to Garoppolo? Cam Sims is capable of providing important depth. Rookie Tre Tucker can thrive at all levels of the field. Phillip Dorsett is a speedy veteran with an understanding of the system in place.

While the Raiders might not know who their fourth wide receiver is, they have a great crop to choose from.
