In recent years, the Las Vegas Raiders went through processes of modifying their offensive line.

While that could still be the case this year, they do have a familiar foundation, as the club is returning its primary starters on the O-line from last season.

"I think they know more as a group, if you talk to them," Raiders  Coach Josh McDaniels said in his press conference ahead of Tuesday's minicamp practice. "A lot of the guys are returning, so they have an ability -- again, we talked about this last week: improvement doesn't necessarily come through acquisition. Our job as coaches are to improve the players each day. And so, I think as a unit, as a group, those guys, their communication's improved, their overall understanding of what's being asked of them has improved.

"They work like crazy, so we couldn't ask for anything more than what we're getting from them in that regard. So we love their attitude, love their mindset. I think we're doing the same thing because offensive linemen, fortunately or unfortunately, don't get to work beside the same guy every rep all season long. So they're learning their teammates, they're getting comfortable communicating with one another, which is an important aspect at this time of the year. And hopefully, all of them are growing."

Having experience with the players around you makes life a bit easier when entering a new season.

"It gives us a lot of confidence," Raiders center Andre James said after Tuesday's practice. "I mean, we've never kept this many guys around. So it gives us a lot of confidence. It's exciting because you're familiar with the guys you're working next to. And that's super important with the offensive line, being able to gel and being able to work with guys you're familiar working with and being able to communicate with. So it's awesome."

At the end of the 2022 regular season, Pro Football Focus ranked the Raiders' offensive line at No. 10.
