The Las Vegas Raiders are traveling to Empower Field at Mile High this Sunday to take on their AFC West rivals, the Denver Broncos.

The Raiders have had the upper hand in this rivalry in the last half decade, winning eight of the last 10 games, including the last six in a row.

The Broncos are looking to change those fortunes, and one player who they are looking to to help them do that is second-year tight end Greg Dulcich.

Dulcich flashed as a rookie in a crowded tight end room last season, although he did not earn as many snaps as he could have due to the fact that he was a third-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft. Rookie tight ends do not often have the chance to be as involved in the offense as more experienced players.

Dulcich took over as the Broncos’ starting tight end in November of last season, posting a standout game against the Baltimore Ravens with six catches for 85 yards. He finished last season with 33 catches for 411 yards and two touchdowns.

Dulcich is now the full-time starting tight end in Denver. He has good size at 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, and was one of the most dynamic pass catching tight ends in his draft class coming out of UCLA.

He possesses rare catch-and-run ability that most tight ends do not have, finishing with 42 catches for 725 yards and five touchdowns in his final season with the Bruins.

Dulcich still needs to improve as a blocker, but has the physical tools and work ethic to get better in that area. Dulcich does his damage mostly in the passing game with precise route running and good hands for a tight end.

The Raiders allowed 842 yards and seven touchdowns to tight ends last season, and their linebackers had their deficiencies in coverage. Dulcich could create problems for the Raiders if they can not cover him downfield.

With all the weapons the Broncos have in the passing game, they cannot forget about Dulcich at tight end. He is a unique player at that position and can beat them in several ways.

Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham will need to have his linebackers ready to defend Dulcich and any of the ways Coach Sean Payton and the Broncos’ coaching staff intend to deploy him.

The Silver and Black open the regular season at the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 4:25 p.m. EDT/1:25 p.m. PDT.
