The Las Vegas Raiders are gearing up for the 2023 season after missing the playoffs in 2022.

Coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler have begun to build the roster in the form of their past success, and they hope this will lead them back to the playoffs this upcoming season.

While the roster is still extensive, and cuts won’t be made until later in the summer, next season’s main contributors are already well-known. While the Raiders have top-end talent, some position groups on the team feature good depth.

Look at the Raiders’ roster and see what position groups feature the deepest talent level.

Wide Receiver -- This group is led by one of the best players in the NFL, Davante Adams. Adams is coming from another excellent season that saw him earn another Pro Bowl and another All-Pro selection.

The Raiders also have two above-average receivers in Hunter Renfrow and Jakobi Meyers, forming one of the most formidable receiver trios in the NFL.

The rest of the roster fills out with free agent acquisitions Cam Sims, Phillip Dorsett, DeAndre Carter and third-round rookie Tre Tucker. This group of players gives quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo plenty of capable receivers to throw to.

Cornerback -- This was one of the positions the Raiders added to the most, bringing back Brandon Facyson and making new acquisitions such as David Long Jr. and Duke Shelley, along with fourth-round rookie Jakorian Bennett.

These new faces add to incumbents Nate Hobbs, Tyler Hall, and Amik Robertson. These cornerbacks are young and have much to prove, and while starting positions are still unclear, the Raiders have starting-level talent on both first and second strings.

Tight end -- The Raiders selected Notre Dame star Michael Mayer in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he has the potential to be an incredibly impactful pass catcher at the next level.

Along with Mayer, the Raiders brought in Austin Hooper and O.J. Howard on a one-year contracts. Hooper is a former Pro Bowler, and Howard is a former first-round pick.

With the long-term potential of Mayer and the baseline capabilities of Hooper and Howard, the Raiders have several viable options at tight ends at their disposal.
