Can Raiders Carry Preseason Play into Regular Season?

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders have won their first two preseason games in 2023, and will look to go undefeated when they take on the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.
The Raiders have won their first two exhibition games in dominant fashion by an average margin of victory of 22 points. Whether it’s the starters or backups, each player is doing their job and executing to the best of their ability.
The Raiders are playing with plenty of confidence and swagger when they step onto the field. The big difference is, however, that these are preseason games, so the Raiders are hoping the attitude their team is playing with can carry over into the regular season.
So, how can they do that? While the Raiders have not played their starters for very long thus far in the preseason, several players who will play a lot in the regular season have still seen the field a considerable amount.
Those players carry themselves as starters, so if the expected starters are carrying themselves in a similar manner, it is evident that it starts up top.
Josh McDaniels is about to begin his second season as head coach of the Raiders, and part of being a head coach is establishing a culture that players want to buy into. So far, in year two, it has been quite successful.
With the way the Raiders’ roster is constructed, there is lots of young, unproven talent at different positions with elite stars like Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams, who McDaniels is looking at to set the tone and establish that culture.
Players are buying into what McDaniels has established in his second season, and it is evident on the field, no matter who is playing. The players like playing with each other, the veterans like teaching the young players, and the young players like learning.
The Raiders have looked like a dominant team throughout preseason, and they would like to see that carry over into the regular season. With the culture that McDaniels has established and the way players have bought into it, there’s a good chance that it does.
The Silver and Black return to preseason action when they play the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT.
