Three Players the Raiders Should Build Around
The Las Vegas Raiders are fortunate to have many talented players and players at the top of their position.
In a recent Pro Football Focus article, the website listed three players to build around for every NFL team.
For the Raiders, Pro Football Focus has defensive end Maxx Crosby, wide receiver Davante Adams, and tackle Kolton Miller as the three players the Raiders franchise should build around.
Crosby is easily one of the noticeable players to build around. He has proven to be one of the best defensive ends in the National Football League. He has the most total pressure and defensive stops in the NFL over the last two years, among any other edge rusher in the league.
The article also highlights first-round draft pick Tyree Wilson. Paring Wilson alongside Maxx Crosby could be a great start to build around on the defensive line and could eventually be a terrifying defensive line duo. Crosby is the one Raider on the defensive side to build around long-term.
Adams also is a player who Pro Football Focus recognizes that the Raiders should build around. After spending many seasons with the Green Bay Packers, he had a phenomenal first season with the Silver and Black. He finished the season with 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns. Adams also has a 2.63 yards per route over the last two seasons, which happens is tied for second in the NFL. With the additions of Jakobi Meyers and Michael Mayer to build around, this is an excellent start for All-Pro wide receiver Adams.
The last player the Raiders should build is on the offensive line, and that player is left tackle Kolten Miller. Last season was one of the best he had in the NFL. He played 1,035 snaps, which was ranked 21st among left tackles. He also had only five penalties and allowed only four sacks last season.
Here is Pro Football Focus's full breakdown of three players to build around for every NFL team.
The Silver and Black open the preseason by hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 13, at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT.
