Raiders' McCormick Showed Promise in First NFL Game

Las Vegas Raiders running back Sincere McCormick is entering his second NFL season, but has yet to appear in a regular season game.
McCormick went down due to a torn ACL in May of 2022, not long after the Silver and Black signed him as an undrafted free agent.
The soon-to-be 23-year-old is around the middle of the pack in the Raiders' running back rotation, but after a strong outing in Las Vegas' preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, he's trending toward becoming an asset that could be used for key situational plays down the road.
McCormick finished Sunday's game with 27 rushing yards, a rushing touchdown, and a receiving touchdown, both touchdowns having been in goal-line situations.
"My running style is kind of aggressive," the young running back told our own Hondo S. Carpenter Sr. after the game. "I play with enthusiasm every single time I touch that ball. Overall, it's just a complete journey that I've been going through, just a mindset of attacking defenders and scoring the touchdown."

McCormick is part of a very competitive running back room, with every player looking to move their way up the depth chart. With that competition, however, everyone's game is elevated.
"We're in a competitive league," McCormick said. "Everybody comes in, come and leave and come and go. ... We pick off of each other. So, the energy continues to roam around in the room, and we continue to lift each other up, regardless of where they're coming from. We still love. It's still family at the end of the day."
McCormick joined the Raiders after a stellar college career at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
In his three seasons playing for the Roadrunners, he rushed for 3,929 yards and 34 touchdowns, as well as adding 509 receiving yards and another touchdown.
McCormick was named to the All-American Second Team for the Football Writers Association of America and Phil Steele in his final college season.
The Silver and Black return to preseason action when they play the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 9 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. PDT.
