Las Vegas Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce and defensive end Maxx Crosby will be a force to be reckoned with in the NFL for the next few seasons.

Two like-minded individuals who love football and love competing at the highest level, the tandem appears to be a perfect match. Crosby was one of the loudest voices in support of Pierce when he was in the mix during the Raiders' head coaching search.

Pierce joined Crosby on his podcast, "The Rush with Maxx Crosby," last week. During a rapid-fire question segment, Pierce was asked about his first impression of Crosby.

Jokingly, Pierce said Crosboy reminds him of the Energizer Bunny because of his non-stop energy.

Las Vegas Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce and defensive end Maxx Crosby had interesting first impressions of each other.

“If we don’t match his effort and his energy, we’re screwed,” Pierce said said. “I’m not going to slow him down. He knows that. I’m not going to slow him down. You need to catch up with this dude. I’m trying to catch up with him. First thing I said was: “My job is to match your deal.’ He knows even before all of this took place. That’s what we were talking about on the sideline for a whole two years.”

Crosby mentioned that Pierce would talk trash to him to get him going. He described his first impression of Pierce as well.

“I would just say ‘real,’” Crosby said. "He came in, he said exactly -- the first day, he said: ‘This is a 10-day lease. I’m playing with house money. I’m going to come in, we’re going to talk our s—, smoke our s—, we’re going to play a different style of football. You’re going to hear it, you’re going to see it, and it’s going to look different.’”

Crosby then took a moment to address Pierce directly.

“I would just say you’re real," Pierce said. "What everybody sees is exactly what you are on a daily basis, which I think, especially nowadays, there’s so much bulls— out in the world. People try to put on a front, things like that, but I love it. The guys feed off that energy. If you’re late, you get fined. There’s no argument about it; everything is black and white. He’s going to give it to you every single time.”

The Raiders hope Pierce and Crosby’s energy can spread to the rest of the team.
