Crosby Names Underrated Players He Has Faced
The camaraderie and respect players have for each other makes the NFL such a high-quality league.
Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby is one of the best players in the NFL, but his respect for his coaches, teammates and opponents makes him one of the best competitors in the game.
On the most recent episode of his podcast, The Rush with Maxx Crosby, one fan asked who the most underrated player he has faced was. Respectfully, the two-time Pro Bowler could not name only one player and instead listed several, including quarterbacks Jacoby Brissett of the Washington Commanders, Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers and Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“There are a lot of teams he could start on,” Crosby said of Brissett. “Jacoby Brissett, I played him multiple times in my career, and obviously, he can throw the ball really well, he’s agile, but he reminds me of a more athletic Jameis Winston. He’s got a weird, crafty way of completing passes and avoiding the rush, and I have a ton of respect for him.”
Brissett has played the Raiders three times in his career, passing for 480 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.

Crosby believes Love is one of the better young quarterbacks in the league.
“He’s had his ups and downs and things like that, but when it comes to the new wave of quarterbacks in the league, I feel like he is exactly that mold,” Crosby said. “He’s strong, durable, able to move in the pocket, he can make throws on the run. I think Jordan Love is going to be really good in this league for sure.”
Crosby also respects Mayfield for his competitive nature and confident play style.
“I have a ton of respect for Baker,” Crosby said. “We’ve chopped it up a few times; we’ve played against each other a couple times. The one thing about Baker, the reason why people love him and hate him at the same time, is that he’s not your stereotypical quarterback. He’s not super quiet and just goes out there. He’s a super competitor, he’s going to talk his s—, and he’s going to try to make off-schedule plays and try to help the team in any way that he can.”
Crosby also acknowledged Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans, Houston Texans offensive lineman Tytus Howard, and his Raiders teammate, defensive end Malcolm Koonce.
