Crosby Recaps Knee Surgery, Gives Recovery Timetable

Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby had successful surgery on his knee that was bothering him for a majority of the season.

The Las Vegas Raiders are now in the offseason, a chance for players to finally rest and get healthy.

This is especially true for defensive end Maxx Crosby, who recently had successful surgery on his left knee. Despite the injury bothering him for most of the season, Crosby did not miss a single game, even playing when he was listed as doubtful.

The injury was so severe Crosby was hospitalized the week before that game. Now that he has had the surgery, he will work on getting back to football activities.

Crosby gave an update on his surgery and a recovery timetable on the latest episode of his podcast, The Rush with Maxx Crosby.

“Surgery was a great success; everything went really well,” he said. “I have to have a big a– brace on it and have to be straight-legged for at least a week, so I’m kind of down right now, but everything went great. It’s going to be a two to three-month recovery to be fully back and healed. I got the thumb as well; my UCL is torn in my thumb. Dealt with that for about half the year, but I’m getting that fixed up. So, I’ll be back and ready to roll April-ish, but I’ll still be training and doing what I do in different ways; we have a great routine, great plans going forward approaching it.”

“It’s a little bit different, but that’s just kind of what comes with the business. I’m going into my sixth year now. Every offseason is different. You’re going to have to navigate the waters a little bit different, but there’s more than one street to get to where you want to go. So, I know I’m more motivated than ever. I’m fired up for this offseason to get rolling, and it’s a blessing.”

Crosby’s record of playing in every game in his career remained intact this season, and he played some of the best football of his career to help the Raiders get close to the postseason.

Crosby also said he will have surgery on his thumb this week in Los Angeles, Calif.
