With their season now concluded, the Las Vegas Raiders have started their head coach and general manager searches.

On Tuesday, the organization added a very valuable prospect to its list of candidates for the general manager position.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the Raiders will meet with former Los Angeles Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco.

Ironically, Telesco was fired by Los Angeles the day after the Raiders trounced the Chargers, 63-21, in Week 15, ending his decade-long reign as general manager.

Telesco immediately turned things around for the Chargers when he was first brought on in 2013, as the team would end a three-year postseason drought with a trip to the Divisional Round despite narrowly making the playoffs with a 9-7 record.

Unfortunately for Telesco, the Chargers would go on to miss the playoffs for the next four seasons. Only four years after going 4-12 in 2015, though, the Chargers finished 12-4, which was tied for the second-best record in the league. They went to the Divisional Round and fell to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots.

Telesco is widely regarded for his success in the NFL Draft, as he was responsible for drafting Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen, quarterback Justin Herbert, safety Derwin James and edge rusher Joey Bosa. He also made a monumental move by trading for linebacker Khalil Mack in the 2022 offseason, which played a huge factor in the Chargers' 2022-23 playoff berth, their first since the aforementioned 2018 team.

Telesco has been an NFL executive since 1991. He began as an intern with the Buffalo Bills before serving as a scout assistant for the Carolina Panthers from 1995 to 1996. Telesco then became an area scout for the team in 1997.

Then Telesco would join the Indianapolis Colts and hold that same position from 1998 to 2000 before becoming a pro scout and later the director of pro scouting. Telesco was the Colts' director of player personnel from 2006 to 2011.

In 2012, Telesco was promoted to the position of vice president of football operations, a position he held for one year before he was hired by the Chargers.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
