Another Raider WR Who Has Experience With Josh McDaniels
There is another wide receiver in the Raiders wide receiver room, which connects with Coach Josh McDaniels.
Phillip Dorsett is a veteran wide receiver who joined the Raiders this offseason, signing on March 16. Dorsett was a first-round pick in 2015. He was selected 29th overall by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2015 NFL Draft.
However, Phillip Dorsett brings another connection with Coach Josh McDaniels in the Raiders wide receiver room.
Dorsett has spent eight seasons as a wide receiver in the NFL. He has had the chance to play with many teams in the league. One of those teams was the New England Patriots. Dorsett played a total of three seasons with the Patriots and played under offensive coordinator McDaniels.
Dorsett overall had a great three-year season run with the Patriots. However, in the 2019-20 NFL season, the veteran wide receiver had a great season. He finished the 2019-20 NFL season with 29 receptions for 397 receiving yards in 14 games. He also finished the season with five touchdowns. During his three seasons with the Patriots, he played 45 games, starting eight and going for 881 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
Dorsett spent his time playing with the Houston Texans in the last two seasons. Last season, he played 15 games, with four of them being starts. He finished the season with 20 receptions for 257 yards and one touchdown.
The veteran wideout has a career total of 92 games played in the NFL, with 19 starts, and has made 151 receptions for 2,001 yards and 12 touchdowns.
With quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who has a strong connection with Coach Josh McDaniels, and two wide receivers in Jakobi Meyers and Phillip Dorsett, who also has connections with McDaniels, it will be very interesting to watch.
The Raiders' offseason workout schedule is as follows:
