Davante Adams Faces Former QB Week 10
A game is circled on Davante Adams's calendar for this upcoming 2023-24 NFL season. The Las Vegas Raiders and Adams take on the New York Jets and newly acquired starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Week 10 of the 2023-24 NFL Season, during which the Raiders lead the all-time series, 24-18-2.
Adams and Rodgers spent nine years together with the Green Bay Packers. As a quarterback and wide receiver duo, they spent quality time with the Packers and, overall, have a great friendship.
Now, the two face each other in Week 10, with both playing on their new teams. Aaron Rodgers was traded to the Jets this NFL off-season. The Packers got the 13th pick in this year's 2023 NFL Draft, the 42nd in the 2023 NFL Draft, the 207th in the 2023 NFL Draft, and a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. All of these draft picks were in exchange for superstar quarterback Rodgers.
Adams is entering his second season with the Raiders. Last season, Adams had a total of 1,516 total receiving yards and a total of 14 touchdowns for the Silver and Black.
Adams spoke with the Media before OTA's and Minicamp started and mentioned his first season with Coach Josh McDaniels and how he is entering his second season under McDaniels' system.
“I mean, I'm just in a whole different spot coming in now," Adams said. "It's almost like taking the same course twice. You take algebra once, which I've never done, I don't know if anybody's ever experienced that. But yeah, taking the same course, you go in and you take algebra the first time, you've never heard of algebra, you never dealt with it before and you've taken calculus before and trigonometry, and then you got to unlearn everything about trig and then go to this now. So, that was part of kind of the adjustment for me, was unlearning some of the things that I knew before that is obviously going to be a little bit of a bastard in this offense. And once you can let go of some of those things, you can now play a lot faster and just be flowing. It's not as stressful nights trying to study and memorize what I'm doing here and doing there. And also, the coaches simplified some stuff for us and made it a little easier coming back too. Like I said, we fed off each other there to make it a little bit easier.”
The Jets vs. the Raiders will be one of the five Primetime games the Raiders play this season, and it sure will be a great game to watch overall.
