Five Raiders Earn First Touchdowns of the Season
On Thursday, a lot of love was distributed in the Las Vegas Raiders' dominant 63-21 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at Allegiant Stadium.
The Raiders put nine touchdowns on the scoreboard, only four of which were scored by a player who had found the end zone in one of the previous 13 games this season.
Second-year Raiders running back Zamir White was the first to get Las Vegas on the board, scoring a one-yard rushing touchdown on the Raiders' first possession. It was White's first career NFL touchdown in what had also been his first career NFL start.
Less than four minutes later, it was Raiders rookie wide receiver Tre Tucker's turn to get his first career touchdown on a 30-yard pass from rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell. The Raiders drafted Tucker in the third round of this year's draft.
The following quarter, Las Vegas running back Brandon Bolden scored the Raiders' fifth touchdown of the game with just under four minutes remaining in the first half. It was a 26-yard rushing touchdown, the first rushing touchdown in his two years as a Raider and second touchdown overall. It was also Bolden's second-longest run since the 2018 season.
Just before halftime, Tucker would strike again on a 20-yard pass from O'Connell. Tucker finished the game with 59 yards on three receptions.
Several Raiders defenders also got in on the scoring action in the second half. Just before the end of the third quarter, Las Vegas defensive tackle Malcolm Koonce sacked Chargers quarterback Easton Stick, forcing a fumble that was picked up and taken to the end zone by Raiders defensive tackle John Jenkins, who also scored his first touchdown of the season, and in fact, the first of his 11-year NFL career.
Lastly, Raiders cornerback Jack Jones, who was signed precisely one month before Thursday's game, scored his first touchdown on a pick-six less than half a minute into the fourth quarter.
The Silver and Black will return to action versus their AFC West rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, on Christmas Day in Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Don't miss it on Monday, December 25, at 1:00 p.m. EST/10:00 a.m. PST.
