Raiders' QB Jimmy Garoppolo Ready to Turn the Page

The Las Vegas Raiders' starting quarterback returns to lead Las Vegas in one of their most important games of the season. He is locked in on the Detroit Lions.

This season has been a roller-coaster ride for the Las Vegas Raiders, with many highs and lows.

The Las Vegas Raiders have been on the right side of exhilarating victories and the wrong side of disappointing losses.

As the Raiders head to Detroit to play the Lions on Monday Night Football, Coach Josh McDaniels and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo are moving forward.

McDaniels has noticed a sense of urgency with the team.

"We have good energy, urgency, I think focus, a good attitude,"  McDaniels said. "Again, I think there are a lot of ups, and again, we want to stop having the downs as much as anybody else does. When you do that, your leadership shows, and I think the guys really come out with a really good energy.

"You can only mourn a loss for a very short time and then you’ve got to move on, got to get ready for the next game and try to win it. I really liked the way that they've worked, their approach has been right on, and I expect today to be the same."

While sidelined by a back injury, Garoppolo was able to experience the Raiders' game against the Chicago Bears from the sidelines.

This was a different experience for the veteran quarterback than the game he missed against the Los Angeles Chargers, which he did not attend and watched on television.

"Well, you're in it," Garoppolo said. "You get the feeling of what's going on, the situation of the game. You get to watch a little bit of the defense once we can talk through our stuff. But it's a weird feeling. I don't enjoy it by any means, but it is what it is.

"And like I said before, you've got to make the best of the situation, so that's what I was trying to do and help the guys out in any way I could. I'm now trying to get ready for Detroit, that's a big one this week for us."

Garoppolo is ready to return to action Monday night against the Lions. The Raiders will need the best play possible from Garoppolo as they face a young and hungry Lions defense.

The Silver and Black will stay on the road to take on the Detroit Lions on Monday night, Oct. 30, at 8:15 p.m. EDT/5:15 p.m. PDT.
