Raiders Land Superstar DT Wilkins

We have been reporting that the Las Vegas Raiders would make a significant push for superstar help on the line of scrimmage, and General Manager Tom Telesco landed defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
In this story:

Las Vegas Raider General Manager Tom Telesco made a big splash early in free agency, getting the type of player Coach Antonio Pierce coveted in Christian Wilkins, arguably the best defensive tackle in NFL Free Agency.

We have reported for days that the Raiders were going to go after "Dawgs" on the defensive line, and they did.  They might not be done.

We were not privy to the details of the contract, but Ian Rapoport from the NFL said, "Splash: One of the top free agents is off the market, as #Dolphins star DT Christian Wilkins is headed to the #Raiders, sources say. He gets a 4-year deal worth $110M base value that includes $84.75M guaranteed in a contract done by @DavidMulugheta of @AthletesFirst

We have been reporting that Nevada's lack of state income tax was a huge deal. While this deal is slightly less than the one for Chris Jones, it is terrific for Wilkins, whom David Mulugheta superbly managed in getting the deal done.

This was a significant signing for the Raiders, who wanted to state that the line of scrimmage and the big bodies on it were where they would build.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
