Raiders' FA DT Butler Returns
This morning on my podcast, I discussed the potential return of the Las Vegas Raiders and that the Raiders had some offers on the board. Moments ago, that came to fruition, and veteran defensive tackle Adam Butler agreed to terms with Genera, Manager Tom Telesco and the Silver and Black.
While Butler's production always didn't appear in the stats column, much of his work wasn't judged solely on stats. He did accumulate five sacks and 28 tackles.
As a prolific space eater, he constantly was a disrupted offensive lines by opening up lanes of attack for the Silver and Black linebackers.
Jeremy Fowler from ESPN stated: "Source: DT Adam Butler back to #Raiders on a one-year deal. Butler had five sacks for Las Vegas last season."
Las Vegas Raiders General Manager Tom Telescco said toughness was one area he appreciated about the Silver and Black last year. Something Butler certainly personified.
"I think the one thing that jumped off kind of doing a deeper dive is how tough a football team it was, and I would say that on offense, defense and the kicking game," Telesco said. "But tough, resilient, and really committed to the process. Just watching the whole situation, how the season played out from how it started and then your head coach is no longer there, and then how you finished it with a new head coach. But a really tough-minded, mentally tough football team. So, that's what kind of came out the most."
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
