Confirmed: DT John Jenkins Returns to Raiders

Defensive tackle John Jenkins will re-sign with the Las Vegas Raiders, which is terrific for the Silver and Black, who prioritized his return.
In this story:

The Las Vegas Raiders continue to do exactly what new General Manager Tom Telesco prioritized in re-signing their free agents who don't fit the mold of salary cap discipline.

We have reported numerous times that Telesco has offers on the table to Raiders free agents and others to rejoin Coach Antonio Pierce and the Silver and Black, but while he is being frugal, he is not being cheap.

As those players explore the process, they see that the Raiders' offers are usually very fair, and they are staying.

One of those key players is defensive tackle, John Jenkins, who was terrific for the Silver and Black in 2023 and has had a Telesco offer for some time.  He explored the market, and several teams were interested, but in the end, he returned to the desert to play for Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham and remain a Raiders.

This morning on our podcast, we stated that a reputable reporter was reporting on the offer, but that we had not yet received confirmation from someone close to the situation.

That confirmation came through moments ago, and we can report that Jenkins is back and, in the space of two days, has brought back two free agents we told you after the season the Raiders had prioritized.

New Raiders defensive  Christian Wilkins talked about the defensive line, and what it will look like with him on it next to Maxx Crosby.

"We definitely talked a little bit just about the possibilities and things we can do, but it's going to have to be built," Wilkins said. "It's definitely a process and a journey. It's just going to have to start with just getting to know each other better. And not just us, but again, it's going to be a team effort. It's going to take all 11 guys on defense at all times to make this thing work and to do good things here. So, I'm definitely just looking forward to the possibilities and just being one piece of the puzzle. No one man is better than the other. I'm just a small piece and I'm excited to be a part of it."

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
