Cornerback Brandon Facyson

Q: How does it feel being back in Las Vegas?

Facyson: "It feels great. I've been smiling since I got here. I got in late last night and just thinking about it and how it all kind of comes back around. It's nothing but God, I thank him every single day. I've been thanking him through this process and just trying to keep a one-track mind, just trying to keep myself working out by just staying focused and letting it play out how it plays out. I think it played out pretty well though, so I'm glad to be back."

Q: There's a new defensive coordinator compared to last time you were here. What do you know about Patrick Graham's system and how you adapt to it?

Facyson: "I'm excited to get to working with those guys. I met with them today, tons of energy. I'm excited about the little things that we did talk about football wise and life wise. But I'm excited, what they bring to this. I know they have a rich tradition of just being a stingy defense and everything like that. I've seen what they did last year, they played really well last year, and I'm just looking to see how I can fit in here and add my presence to this and anything we can do to help the team win."

Q: In 2021, you guys scratched and clawed your way to the playoffs. Through an experience like that, what is the camaraderie and the bond that you still have with those guys right now?

Facyson: "I was just telling them that. I kept in contact with all those guys. Casey [Hayward] is gone, I talked to him a couple of days ago. But I think guys like [Roderic] Teamer, Maxx [Crosby], Amik [Robertson], Nate [Hobbs], all those guys. We kept in contact throughout the season and just hyping those guys up every chance I got when they made a big play, or I saw something. We always kept a strong bond. So, I talked to those guys over the past couple of days and I'm excited to be back. I know they're excited to have me back. We jelled pretty well a couple of seasons ago, even when I came in a little late, they welcomed me in with open arms. I felt like the mesh point was really good. I'm excited to get back to work with those guys and just see what we can do from here."

Q: You played a lot more the last couple of years compared to earlier in your career. How much more comfortable do you feel just out there?

Facyson: "I feel a lot more comfortable. I mean, it takes time for you get acclimated to some things in every level of everything. So, my first couple of years I was doing more like special teams. I was getting in on defense – I had moments where I'd get in on defense. In the past couple of years, I've been playing a lot more on defense, just feeling comfortable, just trying to train my mind and my body is to be ready for anything that comes my way. And just trusting the guys around me and the coaches that put us in great position. So, I'll continue with those things and try to up that as much as I can for sure. I just want to get in here and just gel with these guys and create a team camaraderie. This will be my first time I'll be able to get into actual OTAs, an actual camp with these guys. So, I think that will be important, but I think we're all ready for the challenge."

Q: Was this a place you kind of targeted when you became a free agent that you wanted to come back to?

Facyson: "Yeah. I felt comfortable here. I came here off of, I don't want to say a whim, but I came here and it was a shortened time. I got here probably game five and I automatically felt comfortable here, like a fresh start. I could breathe, just take a deep breath and sit back and relax, and just really take in the moment. And I think that propelled me forward to just really get the best out of myself and the most out of each and every day. So, I'd like to say that this was a potential landing spot in my mind. And I'm just glad it worked out. I'm glad to be back, I'm just blessed."
