Three Drives, Three Punts? Give the Football to Josh Jacobs

When in doubt, the Raiders offense gives the football to their running back, Josh Jacobs.

When the Las Vegas Raiders offense is in a pickle, the rule of thumb is to give the ball to running back Josh Jacobs.

In the 37-12 win over the AFC West rival Broncos, Jacobs led all players on the ground game.

The man who gets the Las Vegas offense rolling was back at it again, the first drive of the day resulting in an 11-yard rushing touchdown by Jacobs.

In fact, Jacobs scored two rushing touchdowns for the Raiders.

His second rushing touchdown was for five yards, as he walked into the end zone.

In total, Jacobs ran for 112 yards in 21 carries and score those two touchdowns.

A showcase of Jacobs' value to the Raiders could be seen at the end of the first half, when he ran the football for 52 yards down the field in one-drive.

While the drive didn’t result in a touchdown, it was a boost the Raiders needed heading into the locker room.

Of 112 yards Jacobs ran for today, 34 yards came in the second half.

While numbers and stats are a major part of the modern NFL game, often, momentum is everything.

The last drive in the first half by Jacobs was simply that. While a touchdown would have been the ideal situation for the Raiders, more importantly, the offense went back to the red zone after punting the ball away from its last three drives.

While no one may ever know if Jacobs alone was the reason the Raiders offense came back alive, Jacobs was a major reason the momentum shifted back to Las Vegas at the end of the first half.
