Jimmy Garoppolo's Health, PFT Report, Brady Starting
HENDERSON, Nev.--Should the Las Vegas Raiders fan base be in panic mode tonight?
Well, that depends on you.
Earlier tonight, PFT.com came out with this report:
"Remember when the Raiders delayed Jimmy Garoppolo's introductory press conference and everyone said there was nothing to see here? There was something to see. He failed his physical, and his contract was dramatically reworked because of it."
When Jimmy Garoppolo came to the Raiders, the other reporters in the room and I were sent home as the details were being worked out in the contract with Jimmy Garoppolo.
I was told that the Raiders had found some things after the injury that they wanted "Cleaned up," but that it was not concerning enough for them to think he wouldn't be ready for the season.
Watch our latest Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast discussing this:
I reported that the deal would get done "soon," and it did.
They reworked some of the contract's details, and the deal was done. In March, Garoppolo had the procedure to "Clean some things up," and the Silver and Black are moving forward.
I did not expect Jimmy Garoppolo to participate in OTAs, and he didn't. I am told that the Raiders are confident that he will be ready.
While I can understand that Raider Nation is concerned, Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler moved all in making this move.
They own it.
If Garoppolo stays healthy and plays 17 games, I still think the Raiders win nine games, and McDaniels and Ziegler deserve all the credit. Like I have said numerous times, if he doesn't, then they own this colossal failure.

Now, the reason I think this story took off tonight was because of a report earlier in the day.
Betonline posted the odds at who would be the quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders IF Jimmy Garoppolo not be ready to go, and the name at the top is familiar:
Tom Brady +200
Brian Hoyer +250
Matt Ryan +300
Nick Foles +600
Aidan O'Connell +70
Based on all that I am hearing, Garoppolo will be ready. That isn't what should concern Raider Nation.
His injury history would make people doubt his ability to stay healthy all season. If he does, Ziegler and McDaniels look like heroes; if he doesn't, they own the failure.
The Raiders' offseason workout schedule is as follows:
OTA Offseason workouts: May 31-June 2, June 12-15
Mandatory Minicamp: June 6-8
