Report: Raiders Pierce Tries to Raid NFC Staff
The Las Vegas Raiders Antonio Pierce has made his point clear to the rest of the NFL.
That point is that the Silver and Black is his dream job, and he will compete with any team, at anything, including the team that made him a Super Bowl Champion and a multi-millionaire.
A report from the New York Post tells the story.
Now the head coach of the Raiders, Pierce was once a superstar Super Bowl Champion for the New York Giants, and he wanted to raid the Giants of another former great Giants linebacker, to join him in the desert, to attempt to win a title.
Per the Post, "Head coach Antonio Pierce and the Raiders pursued Giants special assistant to the general manager Jessie Armstead for a similar role, but Armstead is staying put, sources told The Post."
They added, "The Raiders thought Armstead was coming to the point where he had a presence at their team facility, but instead he will remain under contract with the Giants."
Now that we know Armstead won't be coming, what sticks out to me in the report is "where he had a presence at their team facility." That is fascinating.
It is good for Pierce to shoot for the stars and go after anyone he wants, no matter the team.
From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
