Latest NFL Power Rankings After Thursday Night

As we enter week eleven of the 2023 National Football League regular season, we reflect on where we predicted teams to be, and where they are in our NFL Power Rankings.
In this story:

MIAMI, Fla.--As the Las Vegas Raiders head out to take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, we offer you our mid-season NFL Power Rankings.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) NC -- Ric Flair, the WWE Super Star, says it best: “To be the man, you have to beat the man.” The Chiefs are a dominant force, and when you think they have turned downward, they fool you. Is this the year they get unseated?

2. Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) NC -- I would have had them as my No. 1 team, but one thing keeps that from happening: they lost the Super Bowl. Loaded everywhere, if I had to predict today, we would see a repeat of the last Super Bowl.

3. San Francisco 49ers (6-3) +3 -- This is a team that, when firing on all cylinders, no one wants to face.

4. Baltimore Ravens (7-3) +1 -- This team is the real deal, loaded.

5. Detroit Lions (7-2) +7 -- Far from perfect, but who is? Their toughness and resiliency have them right in the mix under the elite.

6. Cincinnati Bengals (5-4) -3 -- As long as quarterback Joe Burrow’s wrist injury isn’t too severe, this is a fair ranking.

7. Buffalo Bills (5-5) -3 -- Struggling as of late, but the pieces are there, with plenty of time to put themselves back together.

8. Miami Dolphins (6-3) +6 -- That offense is impressive, and while the defense is not as, the return of Jalen Ramsey has the Fish rising.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3) +3 -- You can see where this team is headed and it has the tools to get there. It's probably a year away, but you can see it.

10. Seattle Seahawks (6-3) NC -- Never, NEVER bet against Coach Pete Carroll and his ability to get the most out of his guys.

11. Dallas Cowboys (6-3) -4 -- All the talent, but struggling to be that team everyone expects. There is a saying in Texas that best describes the Cowboys: “All hat and no cattle.” As talented as they are, does anyone fear them as a team?

12. Houston Texans (5-4) +18 -- When the season ends, I will be shocked if we don’t discuss them as the best team in Texas. By far the best coaching job, the offensive and defensive rookies of the year, and a potential MVP.

13. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) +6 -- I love Coach Mike Tomlin, but two words tell you why this team isn’t having a better season. Say them loud for the people in the back: Matt Canada.

14. Minnesota Vikings (6-4) +1 -- I thought this team was a higher mid-tier team, and what a job acquiring Josh Dobbs when Kirk Cousins went down.

15. Cleveland Browns (5-5) +7 -- I don’t care who the quarterback is; that defense will always keep them in a game.

16. Indianapolis Colts (6-3) +10. -- It's better than expected, but I don’t think they are as good as the record says. Jonathan Taylor is the absolute real deal.

17. New Orleans Saints (5-5) NC -- They play in a bad division and had multiple starters hurt in their last game. But they have the tools to be in the playoffs.

18. L.A. Chargers (4-5) -1 -- They should be embarrassed with all of that talent that they are this low. Thankfully, for the other 31 teams, they have the coach that they do. I think they slide as the season progresses, and you find either Jim Harbaugh or Bill Belichick here next year.

19. Las Vegas Raiders (5-5) +1 -- A team on the rise, fighting with their coach, but for their coach. I said to start the season after 10 games, I thought they would be 5-5, and they are. Looking back, had AP been the coach to start the season, I think this team would be 7-3 at worst. A brutal schedule with Miami this weekend and two games with the Chiefs, but they are a blue-collar group of misfits who want a street fight.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5) +11 -- Better than expected means they moved from terrible to bad. Fascinating crossroads of an offseason ahead.

21. Washington Commanders (4-6) +5 -- The house cleaning is coming, but this franchise reflects the old owner and the new ones are ready to clean.

22. New York Jets (4-5) -14 -- If they had quarterback Aaron Rodgers with that defense, no way they would be this low. The game of football is not fair, and the Jets know it.

23. Denver Broncos (4-5) +2 -- The Broncos are improving and starting to play like we thought they would.

24. Atlanta Falcons (4-6) +1 -- The Falcons are a team with some clear answers but some clear question marks. A coach in danger and talented young players do not mix well.

25. Los Angeles Rams (3-6) +2 -- A rebuilding year, but more competitive than expected. A clear path back to respectability is certainly within view.

26. Tennessee Titans (3-6) -6 -- No excuse to be this low other than poor quartrback play. A stubborn coach probably hurt this team from being better than where they are, but are they on track?

27. Green Bay Packers (3-6) -4 -- A rebuilding year, but that team has a lot of talent at every spot, but a young quarterback. He has to develop, and this isn’t the Packers' year, but they aren’t void of talent.

28. Chicago Bears (3-7) NC -- A lousy football team that has what appear to be some pieces, but wow, they have a ton of questions.

29. New York Giants (2-8) -20 -- A bad team with a bad quarterback who once down had even worse backups. It's a total mess for one of the NFL's premium brands.

30. Arizona Cardinals (2-8) +2 -- What a mess.

31. New England Patriots (2-8) -15 -- What a bigger mess. I was the first nationally to report that I heard that Coach Bill Belichick would be gone if he didn’t make the playoffs. Now, everyone has jumped on the bandwagon.

32. Carolina Panther (1-8) -8 -- A franchise in flux. You build winners in the NFL Draft. While it is far too early to give up on Bryce Young, there are question marks to question everything.

+or- denotes changes from preseason prediction.
