Los Angeles Rams' Kyren Williams Among Offensive Player of the Year Favorites
After an injury-plagued rookie season, Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams emerged as one of the NFL's breakout stars in 2023.
Despite missing five games, four due to injury and one due to rest, the second-year running back out of Notre Dame put up some seriously impressive numbers. Williams finished third league-wide in rushing with 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging five yards per carry. He was also a valuable asset in the passing game, as he had 32 receptions for 206 yards and three touchdowns.
The natural next step for Williams, who earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors last season, would be competing for an Offensive Player of the Year award, and bettors expect him to do just that.
According to BetMGM (via Rams Wire), Williams currently has the sixth-best odds to win the award at +2200. The only players with better odds than him are Christian McCaffrey (+500), Tyreek Hill (+600), Justin Jefferson (+650), Ja'Marr Chase (+700) and CeeDee Lamb (+850). Fellow running backs Jonathan Taylor and Jahmyr Gibbs share the same +2200 odds as Williams.
It's also worth noting that Rams receiver Puka Nacua, who finished second in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting last season, is tied for the 11th-best odds at +3000.
Williams played 82 percent of possible snaps in the games he appeared in, so it's fair to expect that number to drop a bit. Even still, he has a great chance to win the award if he can stay healthy while maintaining his production from last season.
