The 2024 NFL Draft is quickly approaching. Upon arrival, Chad Reuter of NFL.com envisions the Los Angeles Rams using the No. 19 overall pick on Penn State EDGE Chop Robinson. The Rams lost a key piece to its defensive line when Aaron Donald and although he plays a different position, Robinson could give L.A. flexibility.

"Robinson's lack of sack production (four in 2023) might scare off some teams, but I think his speed and bend could attract general manager Les Snead, who stays put to add another edge rusher with great potential to the squad," Reuter said of his projection on NFL.com.

Robinson spent his freshman season at Maryland, totaling 19 tackles and two sacks. He transferred to Penn State and made an instant impact in 2022, recording 26 total tackles (10 for a loss) and 5.5 sacks. He also forced and recovered a fumble in 12 games. In 2023, Robinson had 15 tackles (7.5 for loss) and four sacks. He forced two fumbles and recovered one.

Adding a first-rounder on the defensive side of the ball is on course with what the Rams have done in free agency. L.A. has inked deals with cornerbacks Tre'Davious White, Darious Williams and safety Kamren Curl. On offense, the Rams have added quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, guards Jonah Jackson, Kevin Dotson and tight end Cody Parkinson.

Los Angeles is looking to return to the postseason after 2023's bounce-back campaign. A Super Bowl hangover wore off last season, but not before the Rams missed the 2022 NFL Playoffs. The 2023 success was in spite of star wide receiver Cooper Kupp missing the first eight games of the season.

Time will tell if Robinson is indeed the choice at No. 19 when the NFL Draft arrives on April 25.
