The Rams could still be in the market for more defensive back.

The Los Angeles Rams officially signed Tre’Davious White to a one-year deal Tuesday and Fox Sports they’ll continue to add to the secondary when the 2024 NFL Draft begins. In Fox Sports’ seven-round mock draft, Los Angeles selected Toledo’s Quinyon Mitchell with the No. 19 pick. Considering the holes to fill on defense, it feels highly likely the Rams will look to improve on that side of the ball in the first round.

The consensus is that the defensive line should be the top priority, but Fox Sports believes the Rams’ opportunity to improve at cornerback is hard to ignore.

“Yes, pass rush is an obvious need for the Rams after they lost one of the best defensive tackles to ever play the game in Aaron Donald, who retired after a decade of dominance,” Eric Williams of Fox Sports wrote. “But like the Seattle Seahawks got with cornerback Devon Witherspoon last year, the Rams also need a difference-maker in the secondary.”

Mitchell stood out at Toledo and made a name for himself at the NFL Scouting Combine posting a 4.33 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical and benched 225 pounds 20 times. He had six interceptions in four seasons and could’ve had more if quarterbacks tested him more frequently.

If the Rams draft Mitchell, he’d join White as a member of the “newly acquired” club. White made his way to L.A. after seven years in Buffalo. He is a two-time Pro Bowler and was originally a first-round pick out of LSU.

White finished last season with 12 tackles, two passes defensed and an interception. Throughout his Bills tenure, White logged 311 total tackles, 68 passes defensed, and 18 interceptions in 82 career games.
