Jared Goff Barely Cracks Top-20 in New QB Ranking

Jared Goff's team may rank near the top of the NFL, but according to one analyst for NBC Sports, that's not due to the play from Goff himself.
Chris Simm's recently released his ranking of the top-40 quarterbacks in the league, and Los Angeles Rams' fans may have to scroll a bit further than they'd hoped to find their QB coming in at No. 19.
That’s a wrap on the QB Countdown. Appreciate you all following along even when the ranks trigger angry reactions. Lots of good discussion 👊#simmsqbranks pic.twitter.com/jr6quFAmGP

Some surprise names like Dak Prescott, Derek Carr and Kirk Cousins are listed before Goff, which must feel like a kick in the shins to the Rams after Goff headed up one of the most dynamic offensive years in NFL history and led them to a Super Bowl appearance in 2018.
During his three years in the NFL, Goff has increasingly gotten better and has tossed 60 touchdowns to 19 interceptions over the past two seasons. Compare that stat line to a few other QBs listed above Goff on the list, and it's not hard to tell who is overrated or underrated.
It's possible that Sims ranked Goff so low as a nod to the talent surrounding him, as it ranks among the best in the league. Still, barely cracking the top 20 seems like a slight, no matter how you look at it.
