Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams Look to Be 'Aggressive' in Containing Mobile Arizona Cardinals

Can the Los Angeles Rams bottle up the potent ground attack seen from the Arizona Cardinals this week?

Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald is not taking the upcoming matchup with the Arizona Cardinals lightly.

Although the Cardinals come into this week's matchup with a 1-4 record and an injured running back, they have some offensive weapons that have posed problems for teams so far this season, especially in the ground game.

“They're just doing a lot of good things," Donald said. "We just got to worry about what we need to worry about. Obviously, like I said, every week, stick to the game plan, practice, understand what you’re going to be getting, how it's going to come, and try to prepare for it the best way you can and do what we need to do to beat gap sound and stop him.”

Arizona features a mobile quarterback in Joshua Dobbs, and containing him both on the ground and through the air is a focus for L.A. this week. Even with the threat of his legs, the Rams plan to contain Dobbs by remaining the aggressors on defense.

“Well you know you got to be a little bit more gap sound, but you still want to be aggressive," Donald said. "You still want to pin your ears back and get after him, but at times if one guy is free, you got to trust that the next guy next to you will make you right to wrap in or contain him so he can't get out the pocket. Obviously, that was something that hurt us last week on a lot of some big third downs, so obviously watching film, trying to fix those things so we can continue to play fast but contain to quarterback.”

The Rams and Cardinals are scheduled to square off at 1:25 p.m. PT on Sunday, and the game will be televised on FOX.
