Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner 'In Danger' of Missing Matchup vs. Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams received some injury news on Tuesday, but it wasn't from their own roster. Instead, it came from the Arizona Cardinals.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Cardinals running back James Conner is "in danger" of missing the next four games on his team's schedule, including a road date with the Rams this Sunday. Conner sustained a knee injury in Sunday's 34-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, and news broke on Tuesday that his injury will likely sideline him for multiple weeks.
Schefter's report indicates that Conner could potentially miss road games against the Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns along with a home game against the Baltimore Ravens.
This could be a welcome development for the Los Angeles defense if Conner is not able to suit up this week. So far in 2023, the Rams have surrendered 603 rushing yards on 139 attempts. While those numbers aren't terrible, Conner has been strong in his own right on the ground, putting up 364 yards on 68 carries, good for 5.4 yards per attempt.
The Rams are coming off a 23-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and they have matchups against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys after their game against Arizona this weekend. Against the Eagles, the Rams surrendered 159 yards on the ground, the bulk of which came from Philly quarterback Jalen Hurts (72 yards).
Los Angeles' game against the Cardinals is scheduled for 1:25 PT, and the game will be televised on FOX.
