Clay Matthews is long past the point of needing to prove anything to the public, but he still has himself to contend with.

The six-time pro-bowler and former Super Bowl champion is looking to show himself that he has a lot more to give.

Matthews signed with the Los Angeles Rams in free agency of this year, where he went a long way to help bolster what was already thought of as one of the best defenses in the NFL. Alongside fellow veteran addition, S Eric Weddle, Matthews has been reinvigorated with passion for the game.

“When you go to a new team, you get to prove yourself all over again,” Matthews said, via The LA Times. “It provides a level of energy that perhaps hasn’t been there for the past few years, so I’m excited about that.”

An illustrious career — not to mention his luscious hair — has already put Matthews on an array of posters for the league. His time in Green Bay with the Packers made him a star in the NFL. Now he comes to Los Angeles, where he stands on the biggest platform there is, with the brightest uniform he can wear.

If that doesn't get you energized for another year, nothing will.
