Could Coach Sean McVay Miss Los Angeles Rams Game? It's Up to His Baby's Birth
In this story:

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has demonstrated over the years a master of controlling his football circumstances. But in this NFL Week 6? His presence at this weekend's game against the Arizona Cardinals is about to be determined by ... a baby.

"Really feel fortunate that it's been a smooth pregnancy, my wife has been incredible," McVay said of Veronika Khomyn, who is due to give birth to their first child. "It hasn't quite hit me yet. He's active right now, it seems like he's ready to come at any moment. What a blessing that will be."

And that "blessing'' could come on Sunday. ... in which event, if McVay's wife goes into labor on this game day, he won't be on the sideline coaching his 2-3 football team against the 1-4 Cards.

Rams vs. Cardinals Preview: Will Offensive Talent Be Enough?

McVay did not fully detail a contingency plan for the Rams in the event of his absence for this NFC West game at home at SoFi Stadium, a continuation of a three-game stretch here. It is thought that defensive coordinator Raheem Morris might be the guy who steps into the big chair if needed.would fill in for him.

Morris, of course, has experience being in charge of an NFL team. He coached the Buccaneers from 2009-2011 and also served as the Falcons' interim coach in 2020. Overall, Morris has a 21-38 record as a head coach.

And we're sure, Sean and Veronika are about to have a 1-0 record as parents of a beautiful new Rams fan.
