DeMarcus Robinson, Coleman Shelton Headline Extensive Group of Rams Free Agents

The Los Angeles Rams will have plenty of work ahead of them this offseason, with an extensive list of players set to become free agents.
In this story:

The Los Angeles Rams are coming off of a tough loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night, falling 24-23 in the Wild Card round at Ford Field.

And with the season now over, they must transition into roster mode, with an extensive list of players coming and going, including 23 players who are set to become free agents this offseason.

Among the list of those free agents, are a handful of key contributors, including wide receiver DeMarcus Robinson, offensive linemen Coleman Shelton, Alaric Jackson and Kevin Dotson, linebackers Troy Reeder and Christian Rozeboom, defensive backs Ahkello Witherspoon, Jordan Fuller, and John Johnson, and defensive linemen Michael Hoecht and Jonah Williams.

After becoming a major part of the offensive attack in the second half of the season, a loss of Robinson in particular could be very impactful for the Rams if they elect to move on from him this offseason.

In his one season with L.A. including the playoff game, Robinson played in 17 games, starting four, making 29 catches on 42 targets for 415 yards and four scores.

And while those numbers don't necessarily scream 'difference maker', it is important to note that Robinson did not record a catch until November 5 vs. the Packers, and did not truly become a staple in the offense until December 3 vs. Cleveland.

In fact, in the six games he played from the Browns matchup until the playoff loss, Robinson recorded 24 catches for 363 yards and four touchdowns.

Rams Sign 10 Players to Futures Contracts

Meanwhile, Shelton, Jackson and Dotson were also major parts of a revamped offensive line for the Rams, with Shelton playing 97 percent of snaps this season, while Dotson played 76.8 percent of snaps, and Jackson was in on 84.4 percent of snaps.

The same holds true for secondary players Fuller and Witherspoon, both who played more than 93 percent of snaps, while Hoecht played more than 84 percent of defensive snaps.

Suffice it to say, the Rams could have some hard choices to make this offseason. But with $41 million in cap space projected, a good portion of the players could be brought back should L.A. so choose.
