The Los Angeles Rams went from seemingly dead in the water to a playoff team in a matter of weeks, but maybe you shouldn't be surprised by the turnaround. Raheem Morris certainly isn't.

The Rams defensive coordinator was made available to the media late this week where he discussed what he has seen from L.A. since its bye week, a span that has featured a 6-1 record.

“You learn lessons every single week in the National Football League," Morris said, "and I think getting to the bye being 3-6, having a couple of close games there where that could have looked different as well, it gave you the confidence coming out of the bye that you can do what we've done over the past couple of months. It’s really a credit to our leadership and (head coach) Sean (McVay) and what he's been able to do and how he's pushed us forward."

McVay has earned a lot of credit for the turnaround in Los Angeles, but it was also a perfect storm of sorts. The Rams finally got healthy after their bye week, and a newfound confidence seemed to accompany them through it.

"I really give (McVay) a lot of credit for that, fighting through it," Morris said. "And it's not just this year, it's the years prior. It's all your years of experience. It's going through the different situations as you go through them when you go about your business in the National Football League, and it's a lot of fun to be able to have those moments for these guys.”

Here's Why Puka Nacua Isn't Resting vs. 49ers in Week 18

The Rams have officially clinched a playoff berth, and they are able to rest some of their starters this week as a result. Quarterback Matthew Stafford will ride the bench in Week 18, giving way to backup and NFL veteran Carson Wentz as Los Angeles faces a division foe in the No. 1-seed San Francisco 49ers.

Kickoff on Sunday between the Rams and 49ers is set for 1:25 p.m. PT, and the game will be televised on FOX.
