'Lightning in a Bottle!' Los Angeles Rams Coach Raheem Morris Prepares For Challenge From Ravens QB Lamar Jackson
Can the Los Angeles Rams continue their winning streak this week? Maybe, but in order to do so, they have to stop Lamar Jackson.
The Baltimore Ravens quarterback is one of the most electric players in the NFL, leading a potent offensive attack into Week 14 of the season. Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris discussed the challenges of defending Jackson this week during media availability.
When Jackson first came into the league from the Louisville Cardinals, teams weren't sure that he could be successful in the NFL. Now, however, they know just how dangerous he is.
“When he came into the league, we weren't sure how well of a passer he could be, just being honest," Morris said. "Lamar turned into the guy who can scramble, found reads, found a rhythm first with his keeper game, found a really good rhythm in the play action game at some point and then he just became dynamic, won an MVP."
Jackson is no longer viewed as just a mobile threat. He can certainly hurt you with his arm too, as evidenced by his 2,618 passing yards and 13 scores through the air this season.
"Now he's just evolved to an everyday quarterback that just happens to be lightning in a bottle if he decides to run, and he's playing at an extremely high level," Morris said. "And he's one of those guys, other than this week, that you root for because of how well he's done, how hard he's worked at it, how he came in the league.
"I wish him nothing but the best other than now.”
The Rams and Ravens enter this meeting in different situations regarding the playoff race. At this point, it's all but a guarantee that Baltimore will be in the postseason, but it has its eye set on the No. 1 seed in the AFC, if it's able to continue to take care of business.

The Rams, however, are simply gunning for a wild card berth after a 3-6 start to the season has grown to a 6-6 record. It appears that L.A. has gotten hot at the right time, but it will have to battle one of the top contenders in the league on Sunday in hopes of that streak continuing.
Kickoff between the Rams and Ravens on Sunday is scheduled for 10 a.m. PT, and the game will be televised on FOX.
