Los Angeles Rams vs. Indianapolis Colts: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Los Angeles Rams travel east to the Hoosier state to face the Colts in a game where Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald hopes once again to dominate Indianapolis.
Donald has very little - if anything left to prove - in a career that includes a Super Bowl win, NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors, an NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award, seven All-Pro teams, and nine Pro Bowls.
“We’ve got to have a plan for him, know where he’s at all times, and not let him wreck the game,” said Indianapolis Colts coach Shane Steichen, calling Donald one of the best interior linemen in NFL history. "They line him up all over the place. Like I said, we’ve got to have a great, great plan for him.”
The Colts no doubt remember the last time they faced Donald, when he recorded seven tackles, one for loss and three quarterback hits.
Indy's defense can boast its own accolades, currently leading the league in forced fumbles with seven, strip sacks with five, and is tied for second with four sacks and 12 sacks. That will be the biggest challenge for a short-handed Rams offensive line.
“You always want to stay balanced,” Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said. "But you’re also not going to just go beat your head against the wall if they’re saying you’re not going to do it.”
Missing from the lineup maybe for the last week are Rams' wideout Cooper Kupp and Colts running back Johnathan Taylor. But Indy gets a big boost on offense with the return of rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson.
