Rams vs. Saints Preview: Can LA Stop the Free Fall?
The Los Angeles Rams look to bounce back against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at Caesars Superdome. It's a matchup of two teams looking to stay relevant. L.A. is 3-6, in last place in the NFC West and likely to miss the playoffs, just one season removed from reigning as Super Bowl LVI Champions.
The Rams have lost three-straight games, most recently against the Arizona Cardinals in which both teams were without their quarterbacks. John Wolford started for the Rams as Matthew Stafford was out with a head injury. L.A.'s offensive woes continued, gaining just 66 yards on the ground.
The Rams rank last in the NFL in yards per play and are now faced with the reality of playing without their best offensive player, for at least four weeks and likely longer. Star wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been moved to injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain that will need surgery, coach Sean McVay announced.
L.A. will be faced with the tough task of containing the number five ranked pass rush in the league in New Orleans. The Saints also look to rebound after suffering a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. In one of their worst offensive performances of the season, Andy Dalton threw two interceptions and New Orleans barely surpassed 200 yards of total offense.
INJURY UPDATE: Kupp suffered a high ankle sprain and will miss at least four weeks. He will undergo tightrope surgery to repair the injury, recovery ranges typically from five to six weeks, per reports. McVay did not rule out Kupp for the season.
NOT-SO-FUN FACT: Should the Rams not reach the postseason, they'd be the first reigning Super Bowl champions to do so since the 2016 Denver Broncos.

ODDS: The Rams are 3.5-point underdogs vs. the Saints.

"Truth be told, the guys in this locker room, we gonna figure it out... And when we do, nobody will say anything."
