EA Sports Reveals Rams DT Aaron Donald's Madden 24 Rating
As we eclipse the one-month mark until the EA Sports Madden NFL 24 game launches on Aug. 18 (with early access on the 15th), they have gradually begun to release ratings for players and position groups.
The highest mark a player can achieve is a 99 overall rating. Only a select few are handpicked each summer for the honor and it's rare for a player to achieve it multiple times throughout their career.
However, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald earned a 99 overall rating for the seventh year in a row, breaking Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning's record.
The Madden 24 social media team celebrated Donald's remarkable feat.
A recent statistic has popped up, showing that Donald's dominance since his first 99 rating is somehow an understatement.
"Since 2017, [Donald's] faced 1,797 double teams, 152 more than anyone else in the defensive field. Yet he still leads all defensive tackles in pass-rush win rate during that span (26%)," according to ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler.
Every NFL team has had player ratings released thus far, but only the receiver, safety, edge rusher and defensive lineman groups have been revealed.
Madden ratings fluctuate throughout the season based on the player's performance. There have been years that a player's rating has gone up/down 10 notches from Weeks 1-18.
The Rams are coming off by far their worst season since Donald's 99 rating regime began. As Donald reached 32 years old this offseason, it's possible his age and team could alter his rating. The same goes for 30-year-old Rams receiver Cooper Kupp, who has a 96 overall rating, the fourth-highest at his position.
