Shannon Sharpe Ranks ‘5 Toughest Players,’ Where’s Rams’ Aaron Donald?

Newly hired ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe ranked the top-five toughest players in the NFL, which included Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald.
In this story:

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has a serious case for being the most dominant defensive player since the New York Giants great edger rusher Lawrence Taylor. He is dominant and one of the "toughest players" in the league, according to newly hired ESPN co-host of "First Take" Shannon Sharpe.

According to Bleacher Report's TikTok, Sharpe listed the toughest players as Donald, Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James, and Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons.

Despite the category not narrowing Sharpe down to just defensive players, he left out offense from his list, yet even then, many will agree with his top-5, especially seeing as though Donald is the first name on the list.

The 32-year-old is coming off the first injury of his career that forced him to miss time on the field. However, even with the injury that only allowed Donald to play in 11 games, he totaled 49 tackles, 10 for a loss, with five sacks and 11 quarterback hits

Donald is now looking to rebound after missing the final six games of last season due to an ankle injury that required surgery. Yet, now back to full health and still boasting his eye-opening physique, Donald will look to re-assert himself as one of the best players of this generation.

The Rams will travel to Lumen Field on Sunday to face the Seattle Seahawks in their season opener, where kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. (PT).
