Alaric Jackson and Ronnie Rivers Sign Tenders with Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams commenced their offseason program with two players, offensive lineman Alaric Jackson and running back Ronnie Rivers, signing their respective restricted and exclusive rights free agent tenders, the team announced on Monday.
Jackson, 25, served as the starting left tackle for the Rams in 15 games last season, including the playoff loss against the Lions. Since joining the Rams in 2021, he has appeared in a total of 27 games, starting in 21 of them.
Meanwhile, Rivers joined the Rams in 2022 and has played in 17 games with two starts. In the 2023 season, he rushed for 129 yards on 32 carries and caught five passes for 22 yards.
Jackson received a second-round tender on March 12, guaranteeing him a one-year contract worth at least $4.9 million or 110 percent of his prior-year base salary. He once again figures to play a crucial role in the Rams' offensive line plans going forward.
Additionally, Jackson tied for first in fewest sacks allowed among offensive tackles with over 500 snaps played. Since joining the Rams as an undrafted free agent from Iowa in 2021.
Rivers was tendered on Feb. 23 as an exclusive rights-free agent. With less than three accrued seasons and an expired contract, Rivers was unable to negotiate with other teams if offered a one-year contract at the league minimum by L.A.
Heading into the 2024 season, Rivers is once again expected to serve as the team's primary No. 2 back, which he did for much of 2023 when he was healthy.
