BREAKING: Bengals' QB Joe Burrow Active vs. Rams
Just under an hour before kickoff, the Los Angeles Rams received the news that they've been waiting for in preparation for "Monday Night Football's" game versus the Cincinnati Bengals, where star quarterback Joe Burrow is active and is now expected to take the field in Paycor Stadium.
The report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport ends the speculation of whether Burrow will play against the Rams after suffering an injury to his calf, the same one that sidelined him for weeks during training camp.
For a Bengals team that is already fighting to stay in playoff contention after dropping their first two games, Burrow's availability could be key to turning around the season. Luckily for the Rams, they have prepared throughout the week as if Burrow was going to play, so it won't come as a surprise.
“I expect him to play," Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald said. "I know he is a tough guy.
“So my mindset is he’s going to be out there healthy and playing how he needs to play. So our job is to go through this game plan, obviously practice it, get used to it, feel comfortable with it, understand what we need to do, and then execute it come Monday.”
Kickoff between the Rams and Bengals in a rematch from Super Bowl LVI is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. (PT).
